Piccadilly

(1 Rating)
A Hamburg institution
A very cosy, smallish and old-fashioned bar decorated in shades of red and in the gay German plushy style, with coffee pots and whiskey jugs hanging just about everywhere, the Piccadilly opened in 1958 and maintains a welcoming neighbourhood feel. Its original owner is long dead, but his partner, now over 70, has handed the business over following several decades in command. No cabaret, no darkroom and minimal cruising, but definitely chatty, local-feeling and inexpensive. Music veers from 90s Europop to German Schlager, with an ageing clientele to match. Located just south of the Reeperbahn, not far from the S-Bahn station. Closed Tuesday.

Hours
Mon and Wed to Sun 8pm—4am (open end, with Sat until about 6am)
