Henny's Formerly: Küchenwerkstatt

Excellent, quintessentially Hamburg restaurant overseen by chef Danilo Del Favero, who specialises in high-quality takes on Hamburg classics contrasted with Mediterranean and Japanese (fish) dishes. Decor approaches camp in its über-fussy tastefulness. Prices are not cheap, but lunch constitutes something of a bargain. The restaurant name (and address) make reference to bi-sexual (gay?) and controversial German playwright, novelist and organ-builder Hans Henny Jahnn (1894–1959). Henny's is located in a lovely and lush area on the border of Uhlenhorst and Winterhude. The M6 bus gets you here direct from the Lange Reihe. The restaurant faces Mühlenkamp – a retail shopping-and-food stretch known for its boutiquiness. Cross the street to have a drink by the pond-like Alster canal. Opened March 2015. U-Bahn: Borgweg, then a good walk.
